Merritt & Merritt & Moulton was a sponsor of the VBSR 20^th-anniversary picnic held yesterday in Richmond at the West Monitor Barn. It was a wonderful opportunity to see old and new VBSR members. Ken Merritt incorporated VBSR and was one of the founding board members. VBSR has grown to a 1300 plus member organization that it is a leading force for sustainable business in Vermont.

A number of politicians attended as would be expected. One of our best friends and clients, Paul Ralston of Vermont Coffee Company, is running for the House of Representatives in Addison County. Paul is an astute business person as well as involved in a variety of non-profit endeavors, including sustainable forestry.  We enthusiastically encourage you to support Paul’s candidacy.

Ken Merritt recently returned from the SJF Summit on the Green Economy which was held in Durham, North Carolina. He spoke on “Getting the Green: What are Cleantech Investors Looking For.”  SJF is a venture fund focused on cleantech, business and Web-enhanced service and premium consumer products.  SJF Institute, an allied non-profit organization, connects, inspires and accelerates sustainable entrepreneurs and the fields that supports them.
