Tech @ Newport Entrepreneur’s Networking Event
Planned for July 28th
Vermont investors, technology experts and
economic development organizations to launch
new Tech @ series in Newport
Newport, VT (July 15, 2011)– Thinking about starting a technology firm? Got a growing business? Looking for interns? Or, do you just want to connect with other entrepreneurs and investors? If so, then please meet up at Tech @ Newport event on Thursday, July 28th at the East Side Restaurant in Newport, VT from 5 – 7pm.
In partnership with the Newport City Renaissance Corporation, several private and non-profit investment and economic development organizations within Vermont are visiting the Newport area to engage, share and learn from local entrepreneurs, business owners and investors.
Tech @ Newport is a “no speeches” style networking event modeled after the very effective Emerging Growth Company networking events recently started in Burlington. “One of the most exciting ways that we can help create more jobs is by connecting entrepreneurs with the right private and public resources to help plan, fund, staff and grow their businesses,” said Andrew Stickney, Vice President of the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET).
Organizers for this inaugural Tech @ series include the Newport City Renaissance Corporation, Fresh Tracks Capital, LP, the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies, North Country Angels, and the Vermont Technology Council, among others. Following the kick-off in Newport, the next Tech @ series event is being planned for Brattleboro in September.
“Our area has a number of entrepreneurs, inventors, executives, and investors who are interested in job creation, starting companies and mentoring emerging firms in support of a brighter future,” said Patricia Sears, Executive Director, Newport City Renaissance Corporation. “For some entrepreneurs and investors this gathering may be too important and fun to miss. So let’s get better connected and see what may result.”
